EXAMPLE: Skewed spending priorities in Kenya

In its report Living Large: Counting the Cost of Official Extravagance in Kenya, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights showed that Kenya’s government had spent more than USD $12 million on new cars for senior government officials – enough money to send 25,000 children to school for eight years.
