En el presente informe, la Relatora Especial examina la forma en que el derecho a la educación contribuye a la prevención de crímenes atroces y violaciones masivas o graves de los derechos humanos. Destacando que la educación desempeña un papel fundamental en todas las etapas de la prevención, la Relatora Especial subraya el potencial preventivo particularmente contundente del derecho a la educación en las etapas tempranas, antes de que se hagan evidentes las señales de alerta.

Dans le présent rapport, la Rapporteuse spéciale examine les différentes façons dont le droit à l’éducation contribue à prévenir les atrocités criminelles ainsi que les violations graves ou massives des droits de l’homme. La Rapporteuse spéciale soutient que l’éducation peut jouer un rôle essentiel à tous les stades de la prévention et souligne le pouvoir préventif particulièrement fort du droit à l’éducation tout au début du processus, avant même que les signaux de danger puissent être détectés.

Report of the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to education: Contributions of the right to education to the prevention of atrocity crimes and mass or grave violations of human rights

In the present report, the Special Rapporteur considers ways in which the right to education contributes to the prevention of atrocity crimes and mass or grave human rights violations. Stressing that education has a key role to play at all stages of prevention, the Special Rapporteur underlines the particularly forceful preventive potential of the right to education in the very early stages, before warning signs are apparent. That role is to be linked with the aims of education and the right to inclusive and equitable quality education, as established in international instruments.

Dans ce rapport, le Rapporteur spécial note avec préoccupation la multiplication rapide du nombre d’établissements d’enseignement privés et la commercialisation de l’éducation qui en découle. Il examine les effets néfastes de cette tendance sur les normes et principes qui constituent le fondement du cadre juridique du droit à l’éducation tel qu’il est consacré par les instruments internationaux relatifs aux droits de l’homme.

Report of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education: Protecting the right to education against commercialization

In this report, the Special Rapporteur looks with concern at the rapid increase in the number of private education providers and the resulting commercialization of education, and examines the negative effects of this on the norms and principles underlying the legal framework of the right to education as established by international human rights treaties. He highlights the repercussions of privatization on the principles of social justice and equity and analyses education laws as well as evolving jurisprudence related to privatization in education.
