Education for All Global Monitoring Report 2000-2015: Acheivements and Challenges

The 2015 Global Monitoring Report – Education for All 2000-2015: Achievements and Challenges – provides a complete assessment of progress since 2000 towards the target date for reaching the Dakar Framework’s goals.

It takes stock of whether the world achieved the EFA goals and stakeholders upheld their commitments. It explains possible determinants of the pace of progress.

Finally, it identifies key lessons for shaping the post-2015 global education agenda.

La iniciativa Educación para Todos (EPT) es un compromiso mundial para dar educación básica de calidad a todos los niños, jóvenes y adultos. En el Foro Mundial sobre la Educación (Dakar, 2000), 164 gobiernos se comprometieron a hacer realidad la EPT y definieron seis objetivos que debían alcanzarse antes de 2015. Los gobiernos, los organismos de desarrollo, la sociedad civil y el sector privado están colaborando para cumplir con los objetivos de la EPT.

Informe del Relator Especial sobre el Derecho a la Educación después de 2015

Este informe se presenta de conformidad con las resoluciones 8/4 y 17/3 del Consejo de Derechos Humanos. En él se destacan los avances recientes relacionados con la agenda para el desarrollo después de 2015, prestando especial atención a un enfoque de la educación basado en los derechos humanos. El Relator Especial aporta perspectivas sobre los objetivos de la educación y recomienda estrategias de aplicación.

Applying Right to Education Indicators to the Post-2015 Education Agenda

This paper is the Right to Education Initiative’s contribution to the on-going discussions to refine the formulation of the post-2015 education goal and targets and to identify related indicators to measure progress towards them. This paper argues that there is a need to introduce a human rights perspective to the post-2015 agenda and furthermore that right to education indicators can give a fuller account of the progress made by States towards achieving the post-2015 goals.
