The Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Sciences Po Paris Human Rights Clinic, and the Right to Education Project are convening a public conference on privatisation in education, in Paris on 18th March 2015 (to be conducted in French).
There will be a lecture from Dr Kishore Singh, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to education, who in his most recent report highlighted the negative effects privatisation has on the right to education.
Dr Singh’s lecture will be followed by a presentation of case studies on Chile and Nepal, and by reflections from Olivier de Schutter, the former UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food, and current member of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
