The Right to Education Project is seeking a Research & Advocacy Coordinator
Location: Central London
2 years Fixed Term Contract, Part time for 17.5 hours per week
Salary: For London base – Salary - £19,549 per annum for 2.5 days per week (equivalent to c£39,000 full time)

Use your extensive experience of working in multi-country agency on education and understanding of international law as a Research & Advocacy Coordinator at ActionAid International and be part of the global ActionAid family helping people use their own power to fight poverty and injustice. As Research & Advocacy Coordinator you will work on a two-year research and advocacy project linking the right to education, privatisation and tax justice with ActionAid programmes in Tanzania, Ghana and Pakistan.
This will involve working with colleagues in country to frame a common approach to research and advocacy as well as support the work on an ongoing basis. You will also be involved in country visits to ensure effective delivery, providing advice through distance support and regular communications, helping with analysis and collating findings from local and national research into an international report – which will be disseminated widely and used for global advocacy. We will look to you to develop an advocacy strategy for communicating research findings, build credible national advocacy plans and maintain close coordination between stakeholders to maximise effectiveness.
A postgraduate in a relevant field or with extensive experience including international human rights law you will have a background in education gained in an international agency or from working across countries. This must be complemented by a comprehensive understanding of policy issues and programme practice on education. Experienced in research design and delivery you will be comfortable synthesising and analysing complex information, identifying learning and communicating it effectively. You must also possess strong communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and a demonstrable interest in development issues.
