Committee

The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will eventually have a membership of 18 experts.
States Parties will provide reports to the Committee every two years. The reports will provide a comprehensive explanation on the progress made towards implementation of the Convention.

Petitions to the Committee alleging breaches of the Convention by a government will be allowed but only against governments of countries that have ratified the Optional Protocol to accept the competence of the Committee to receive such petitions.
